The Institute of Massage and Health Education created the Healing Hands Initiative to help make career-focused massage therapy education more accessible to individuals who may face financial or other barriers to pursuing a new career. Through scholarship opportunities, community partnerships, and career-focused education, Healing Hands is designed to help more people take the next step toward a meaningful career in massage therapy.

How the Healing Hands Scholarship Works
Healing Hands connects community organizations with educational opportunities at IMHE.
Our community partners help identify individuals in their communities who could benefit from a career-focused education but may face financial barriers to getting started.
Here’s how it works:
01 - Community Partner Identifies a Candidate
Your organization identifies an individual who may benefit from pursuing a career in massage therapy and meets the needs of the Healing Hands Initiative.
02 - IMHE Reviews the Candidate
IMHE works with the referring organization and candidate to determine eligibility and help them understand the program, admissions requirements, and available scholarship support.
03 - Scholarship Support Is Awarded
Eligible candidates may receive full or partial tuition assistance through the Healing Hands Initiative, helping reduce the financial barrier to starting their education.
04 - The Candidate Begins Their Career Journey
Once enrolled, students receive professional, hands-on massage therapy education and support as they work toward becoming licensed massage therapists.
05 - IMHE Helps Prepare Them for What’s Next
Our goal extends beyond graduation. Through professional mentorship and career support, we help students prepare for opportunities in the wellness and healthcare fields.
